“to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”

We believe that now, more than ever, our local food system will play an important role in the future of our community. Please use this space as a resource for all things local food in Revelstoke.

Food Support

Community Connections' Food Outreach seeks to combat household food insecurity by providing dignified and accessible food support to community members. They offer a food pickup three times weekly for anyone who is experiencing some level of food insecurity. New clients can register during their first visit; all that is required is their name, birthday and household size. There is no means testing, as the program seeks to be barrier free and believes that food is a necessity which should not be limited or influenced by a persons financial standing.

Food Pickup Times: Mondays 10 am - 1pm, Wednesday 4 pm - 6 pm and Fridays 10am-12 noon.

Monday is Family priority and Friday is Senior priority; which means that the priority group gets to skip the initial line up. There are also children's snacks available on Mondays.

The Food Outreach Program is located at the Community Connections' Outreach Building, 416 Second Street West.

Food insecurity is on the rise and affecting more households than ever before. Together we can help our community get through this! We recognize that many people are wanting to donate to the Food Bank during these uncertain times. The most efficient method is via etransfer to: finance@community-connections.ca Please include your full address and email so we can send your tax receipt. Donations can also be done through the Food Bank Website using this link: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/905. You can also add $2.00 to your grocery shopping at Save-On- Foods and Southside Market.

Additionally, Community Connections’ has created a Food Asset Map to help people get to know the elements or assets of the Revelstoke local food system.
