Growing season in Revelstoke has started with some great sunny days and warm temperatures which has many Revelstoke Gardeners having some early success. It’s also offered a great opportunity for the Garden Guru program to share useful tips and tricks through our facebook and instagram about gardening topics such as tools, bugs, square foot gardening and basic tips on how to be a more successful gardener. We also utilized the great weather to make some instructional videos on how to plant mushrooms, as well as how to plant potatoes. The second half of May seemed like a great time to talk about compost, so along with some useful tips on our social media, we also hosted an online Composting Workshop to help the local community of gardeners expand their compost knowledge and find an easy way to be more environmentally friendly at home. If you missed the workshop, find the link below, where you can watch Graham Casselman from the CSRD go over basic composting facts and how to’s. Overall, the season has started with some ample growing and fun learning as a Community.
Check out our recorded Composting Workshop hosted by Graham Casselman from the CSRD.
