OUR WORKSHOPS

In coordination with the community gardens, the LFI coordinates the Garden Guru Series from spring to fall; a series of workshops hosted by local experts on garden-related and food-gathering techniques. This series is open to the public and is well attended by a variety of Revelstoke residents. Every year brings new topics and presenters to learn from.

The 2025 workshop series will include “garden guru” education as well in-the-kitchen skills.

VALUE-ADDED FOOF WORKSHOP – Fall 2025

Explore New Ways to Grow Your Food Business

We’re excited to announce a Value-Added Workshop happening this fall—designed for farmers, food entrepreneurs, and chefs who want to expand their offerings and increase their income through products like sauces, preserves, food kits, and more.

This hands-on session will cover the essential steps to creating and selling value-added products, with expert guidance and real-world examples. Whether you're just getting started or looking to refine your current offerings, this workshop will give you the tools and connections to move forward.

Help us tailor the workshop to your needs by filling out this short questionnaire.

LET’S LEARN ABOUT FOOD & GARDENING.

At the core of the LFI mission is education. We want to provide you with the tools to learn how to grow your own food, and redefine your relationship with the food that you eat.

This includes:

  • Garden workshops.

  • Kitchen skills workshops.

  • Film viewings.

  • Community panels and discussions.

Past workshops have included mushroom foraging, kombucha making, canning and preserving and gardening best practices.

All workshop fees are donations to the Local Food Initiative to support us in executing our food security education.
