The LFI is committed to hosting workshops year round to educate our local community on food production and our systems to increase engagement and food literacy.

Past workshops have included mushroom foraging, kombucha making, canning and preserving and gardening best practices.

All workshop fees are donations to the Local Food Initiative to support us in executing our food security education.

The Garden Guru Series

In coordination with the community gardens, the LFI coordinates the Garden Guru Series from spring to fall; a series of workshops hosted by local experts on garden-related and food-gathering techniques. This series is open to the public and is well attended by a variety of Revelstoke residents. Every year brings new topics and presenters to learn from.

The 2023 Garden Guru series will include a combination of workshops that are held at the market, as well as special event workshops. Keep coming back to this page and follow us on social media to stay updated on the series.
