Summer school is awesome!!!

The Revelstoke Local Food Initiative is offering a Garden School this year at its downtown community garden location.  Community members who sign up will attend 10 classes over the course of the summer and fall, where we will learn the basics of gardening including preparing the soil for planting, starting and transplanting seeds, how to deal with pests and bugs, garden maintenance, and lastly, harvesting. Students will take home a weekly box of produce once the gardens begin producing.

Audience:  This course is intended for students with little to no gardening experience.  More advanced opportunities for learning are offered through the Garden Guru series.  Watch the Revelstoke Local Food Initiative website and Facebook page for upcoming events.  

Cost: $90.00 for LFI members, $110.00 for non-members*.  This includes the 10 classes, weekly produce boxes (once available), and a selection of gardening tools that you will take home. Subsidies are available to cover a portion of the cost – please speak directly with Kristina.
